Lizzi Bougatsos, Works in Progress coincides with the Thornton Dial exhibition on view at 55 Delancey St. Bougatsos invited Dial to hold a two-person show at the gallery in 2011. Mr. Dial passed away shortly after their exhibition together and this unplanned juxtaposition of the artists' work in proximity is meaningful to Bougatsos, honoring his legacy. The artist also lost her father in February, George Bougatsos, a cobbler by trade, who is integral to her visual and musical performances. The works on view are in progress and will change throughout the week-long exhibition.
